Des Moines, IA – Tom Hoefling of Iowa and J.D. Ellis of Tennessee were nominated last night as the 2012 Presidential and Vice-Presidential candidates for America’s Party.

The America’s Party national convention also ratified its 2012 platform, adding additional private property rights language, and replacing its old pro-life language with the full text of the “Equal Protection for Posterity Resolution.”

America’s Party is being built by Reagan pro-life, pro-family, “peace through strength,” conservatives who believe that the Republican Party has abandoned the principles of Ronald Reagan; particularly the Reagan pro-life platform plank which recognizes the personhood of the unborn and their protection by the Fourteenth Amendment.

"Man has forgotten God, that is why this has happened" was Russian author Alexander Solzhenitsyn's response when questioned about the decline of modern culture.

This echoed another Russian author, Dostoevsky, in whose book, The Brothers Karamazov, the character Ivan Karamazov contended that if there is no God, "everything is permitted."

Solzhenitsyn was imprisoned for eight years by Joseph Stalin, as he described in his autobiographical lecture, printed in the Nobel Foundation's publication, Les Prix Nobel, 1971:

"I was arrested on the grounds of what the censorship had found in my correspondence with a school friend, mainly because of certain disrespectful remarks about Stalin, although we referred to him in disguised terms.

A further basis for the 'charge' were drafts of stories and reflections which had been found in my map case."

He was Awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1970, but the Communist government did not allow him to leave the country to accept it.

He began publishing "The Gulag Archipelago" in 1973, and in response to international pressure, the Soviet Union expelled him on FEBRUARY 13, 1974.

The following year in Washington, D.C., Alexander Solzhenitsyn warned:

"I...call upon America to be more careful...because they are trying to weaken you...to disarm your strong and magnificent country in the face of this fearful threat-one that has never been seen before in the history of the world."

The Obama Presidency is quite bold about the presidents desire to rule as a king. One can only come to that conclusion if his actions are looked at honestly. In his mind, Obama is not the president of a Constitutional Republic. He is the king of a country and makes no apologies for his complete disrespect for the principles of liberty, limited government, the Constitution and rule of law found in it. [Alleged] President Obama is a master of socialist class warfare and a genius in the art of voluntary enslavement of an uninformed citizenry. By “voluntary enslavement” I mean convincing people to put their faith, dependence, and future in the hands of the government. He has proven himself as one who can use language, and policies to ensnare the selfish mindset of those who deem government to be as their father and mother. With all his platitudes he became the president, even promising through his presidency to “heal the planet.” And now with intense class warfare he seeks to put the final nail in the principles of liberty, asking one more term to accomplish his elitist, socialist, Marxist enslavement of America. You got to hand it to him…what the Soviets could not do from the outside, Obama is doing quite well from within.

Let us understand something right now. Those of you who read this and are in favor of your “dear leader’s” world view will undoubtedly now point to George Bush. You will say “Bush did this and Bush did that.” You say this with two assumptions:

1) That anyone who does not support Obama must have been a Bush Republican.

2) That one behavior justifies another.

Both of these assumptions are simply wrong. I did not support Bush nor did I support his big government socialist institution of new entitlements. I did not support his unconstitutional “no child left behind” nonsense or any other unconstitutional policy of his. The assumption that everyone who opposes Obama is a cheer leader for the Republican Party is a lie.

[Alleged] President Obama has blatantly opposed the principles of liberty by forcing individual people to buy a product simply because the government tells them to by virtue of their existence (this he did through “Obamacare”). Then he went on to exempt many of his political allies from the plan that he imposed on the rest of us. Not only did [Alleged] President Obama take over private industry (GM & Chrysler) and put private bond holders out of their money in order to take care of his union supporters, then he goes in to destroy the 4th amendment by signing a bill making it a policy of America to imprison any American citizen with no charges, no trial, and no lawyer indefinably on simple “suspicion” of terrorist activity. Now we see the continued edicts of the “King” in the latest attack on religious liberty. This attack is so blatant that one must come to the conclusion that all-out war is happening against the Bill of Rights. “King Obama” has declared that religious institutions must provide contraception coverage paid for by the religious institution including the “morning after pill.” In doing so, he has defecated on the first amendment of the Constitution. He and his minions of despots have imposed their will on religious people under penalty of law. When a Catholic Bishop recently wrote a letter to priests in the military about this, he was told his letter was “sedition,” Sedition? Sedition means treason, and treason is a strong word. Now we have come to the point where an American citizen has to live in fear of being “suspected” of terrorist activity (that can mean whatever the government wants it to mean), must buy whatever the government orders him to, must obey government edicts concerning how religious institutions act under penalty of law, and must be careful what they say under fear of being intimidated by accusations like “sedition.”

[Alleged] President Obama is not an American patriot, he is not a defender of the Constitution, he is an enemy of liberty, the rule of law, and the principles of liberty that have made this country the envy of the world.

In fact, we have now come to the place where under “King Obama,” I, an American citizen, a preacher of the gospel, and an out spoken critic of [Alleged] President Obama, his government, and his policies can be taken without due process of law, and there is nothing anyone can do about it. By calling him an enemy of liberty they can say that I am guilty of sedition? Every American should be outraged by this infringement on the first amendment. The government telling the Churches what they have to cover and not cover? What they must do against their religious convictions under penalty of law? Some are defending the President by saying most women use birth control. This completely misses the point. This is not about birth control. This is about the government forcing a religious institution to pay for what they are against. This is a gross violation of the first amendment.

This is what we have come to and I for one refuse to be silent concerning it. I will not be intimidated by this administration. This administration is anti-Christ, pro homosexual, pro baby murder, anti-liberty. Obama is a king who “sets himself against The Lord and His anointed.” I will not be silenced and stand by while this president tramples on the sacred God given rights of the individual under the façade of what is good for the collective. Obama thinks he is king. He repeatedly says “If congress will not act I will.” What he is saying is that if the representatives of the people will not pass what he wants, he will simply make a decree as a king and make it happen by any means he chooses in the executive branch, through his so called “Czars.” This is tyranny, and it is quickly turning from soft to hard tyranny. First it’s threats, then it’s imprisonment.

When Obama was elected I wrote an article titled “Obama wins liberty loses” In that article I wrote the following:

“History teaches us that Government is the most vicious enemy of liberty. Socialism portrays itself as fair and caring with the idea that it will not allow you to fail. It exalts itself as your protector and provider and yet it cannot be. The truth is that without the possibility to succeed or fail, there can be no liberty! Government exacts its pound of flesh. It will never be satisfied with its power. Government is just as George Washington said it was; "Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is a force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master." The election of Barak Obama is the culmination of 50 years of liberalism. It is the triumph of radical socialistic ideology spawned in the 1960's.”

This is indeed what Obama has done, and continues to do. Increase government central planning and power, Fascist marriage of big business and government, and a dictatorial government that tramples on religious liberty, personal property, and rights of conscience. King Obama is doing exactly as I and so many others warned he would do. 67 million people are now in some way dependent on the central power of the federal government for everything from welfare and food stamps to education and healthcare. King Obama is having his way with us and there is hardly a spoken word to be heard amidst the loud cheers for more government hand-outs. Yes there are some who speak out but this nation has come to the point of dependence that makes it hard to see a real turn back to liberty.

Obama is presiding over a plantation. A system whereby the connected in government, education, unions and some big business get to be the house slaves while the rest of us work the fields to support the institution of slavery to government control. You say “What kind of a thing is that to say preacher?” It is a fitting analogy even if it is not politically correct. You see people; I am a student of history. I am a theologian, and a man who understands world view. What the Obama administration is systematically doing it dismantling our way of life as he promised he would. Obama said when running for the office of the presidency; “We are going to fundamentally change America.” One thing we should give Obama credit for is keeping his word. He is doing just that by getting rid of the fundamental principles of:

1)      Due process of law.

2)      Right to trial, Right to counsel

3)      Personal property rights

4)      Right to religious freedom

5)      Constitutional/Republican form of government

6)      Free speech

Congressional approval of war Only a narcissistic megalomaniac who rejects the foundational principles that this once great nation was founded on would do what he has done, and continues to do. With no regard for his oath of office he wields the presidency as a king wields his power. From securing a half a billion in government loan guarantees for his political fund raisers at the failed company “Solyndra” to exempting his political allies in the big unions from Obamacare, [Alleged] President Obama has shown his world view, his unethical actions, and his blatant anti American philosophy. It is king Obama that is guilty of sedition, not an American who resists The Obama administration’s tyrannical edicts.

Who does [Alleged] President Obama think he is? By what authority does he do such things? By what Constitutional principle does he justify his contempt for the Bill of Rights? By Who? By What? The answer is clear; [Alleged] President Obama thinks of himself as above the rule of law and in doing so he has in effect decreed himself King.

As the above scripture says; “He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.” The Lord shall have the last word in the final Day of Judgment. There is only one eternal King and that is Jesus Christ. Obama can enjoy his kingdom now but in the end it shall be:

Philippians 2:9-11 “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

There can be only one King and that is why the cry of the American Revolution was “No King But Jesus!” Wake up America, your liberty is being systematically ripped from you under the guise of security and fairness. You want a King? Turn to the King of kings, and Lord of lords. Do not put your trust in a man. Man will find a way to put you under his power for his own good to the detriment of all others. That is what history teaches us. We do well to learn from it. Our trust must not go to centralized human power, but rather to God:

1 Timothy 1:17 “Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.”

Obama won and liberty lost. Our chance to get liberty back hangs by a thread. We have almost passed the point of no return. Listen to me Christian: Wake up! Speak out! Stand up! Fight already!

HHS tells religious believers to go to hell. The public notices.

The political furor over [Alleged] President Obama's birth-control mandate continues to grow, even among those for whom contraception poses no moral qualms, and one needn't be a theologian to understand why. The country is being exposed to the raw political control that is the core of the Obama health-care plan, and Americans are seeing clearly for the first time how this will violate pluralism and liberty.

***In late January the Health and Human Services Department required almost all insurance plans to cover contraceptive and sterilization methods, including the morning-after pill. The decision came after passionate lobbying by religious groups and liberals from the likes of Planned Parenthood, amid government promises of compromise.

In the end, Planned Parenthood won. HHS chose to draw the rule's conscience exceptions for "religious employers" so narrowly that they will not be extended to religious charities, universities, schools, hospitals, soup kitchens, homeless shelters and other institutions that oppose contraception as a matter of religious belief.

The Affordable Care Act itself is ambiguous about what counts as a religious organization that deserves conscience protection. Like so much else in the rushed bill, this was left to administrative discretion. What the law does cement is the principle that the government will decide for everyone what "health care" must mean. The entire thrust of ObamaCare is to standardize benefits and how they must be paid for and provided, regardless of individual choices or ethical convictions.

To take a small example: The HHS rule prohibits out-of-pocket costs for birth control, simply because Secretary Kathleen Sebelius's regulators believe no woman should have to pay anything for it. To take a larger example: The Obama Administration's legal defense of the mandate to buy insurance or else pay a penalty is that the mere fact of being alive gives the government the right to regulate all Americans at every point in their lives. Practicing this kind of compulsion is routine and noncontroversial within Ms. Sebelius's ministry. That may explain why her staff didn't notice that the birth-control rule abridges the First Amendment's protections for religious freedom. Then again, maybe HHS thought the public had become inured to such edicts, which have arrived every few weeks since the Affordable Care Act passed.

Bad call. The decision has roused the Catholic bishops from their health-care naivete, but they've been joined by people of all faiths and even no faith, as it becomes clear that their own deepest moral beliefs may be thrown over eventually.

Some thoughts on the occasion of President Ronald Wilson Reagan’s 101st birthday

Ronald Reagan began his political life as a Democrat. Later, as we all know, he became a Republican, famously saying that he didn’t leave the Democrat Party, the Democrat Party left him. And, of course, he was elected to two terms as California Governor, and served two terms as President, as a Republican. Because of that, his name will always be associated with that party.

But I think his legacy transcends, and will outlive, that once-grand old party as well, as that party moves inexorably away from morally-conservative Reaganism and towards Romneyite liberalism, and/or Ron Paul libertarianism and isolationism, inevitably consigning itself to the same unprincipled ash heap of American politics as the Whigs. Ronald Reagan never left the Republican Party. But the Republican Party is, without a doubt, abandoning Reaganism.

As President, Reagan rose above the mere fact of his party label, and came to represent true Americanism. He clearly saw the vision of the “shining city on a hill” of the gospel of Matthew, chapter 5, and of that great Puritan John Winthrop, and for him it shone ever brighter. He often quoted America’s founding paragraph – “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights…” – and understood the crucial import of those immortal words. He came to firmly stand for the equal protection of the God-given, unalienable right to life of all, including those who have not yet been born, from the first moment of their creation.

He arrived at that place because he was a decent human being, one who reverenced God and respected all of those who were made in His image, not because he was a Republican. Frankly, the elites, even in his own party, would rather that he had just shut up about it.

When he consistently pointed the people back to the Bible and to God, he did so as a Christian, cut from the same cloth as this republic’s wise founders, not as a Republican, and he didn’t seem to care much what the political high muckedy-mucks thought of it. He understood that in fact our national departure from God is at the root of virtually all of our problems.

That's why the Marxist vision of man without God must eventually be seen as an empty and a false faith - the second oldest in the world - first proclaimed in the Garden of Eden with whispered words...'Ye shall be as gods.' When he stated his deep belief that the rest of humanity, not just Americans, are also endowed by our Creator with the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, and expressed his determination to do whatever he could within the legitimate powers of his office to make it possible for millions, or billions, of those men and women to enjoy the Blessings of Liberty that we enjoy, he was representing the best of what it means to be an American.

"I have seen the rise of fascism and communism. Both philosophies glorify the arbitrary power of the state...But both theories fail. Both deny those God-given liberties that are the inalienable right of each person on this planet, indeed, they deny the existence of God." – Beijing, China, April 27, 1984

His Peace through Strength policies brought down the evil Soviet communist empire, an historic feat that few outside his closest counsels ever thought possible. But, when he stood at the Brandenburg Gate and demanded, “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall,” he was not doing so as a Republican. He was doing it as an American, and the whole world knew it.

When he strictly warned us of the destructive dangers of socialized medicine and every other left-wing incursion on liberty, he did it as an American.

"One of the traditional methods of imposing statism or socialism on a people has been by way of medicine...and behind it will come other federal programs that will invade every area of freedom as we have known...until, one day...we will awake to find that we have socialism. And...you and I are going to spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children, what it once was like in America when men were free." – 1961 Reagan recording

Sadly, in 2012, we have come to a point in which the “front-runners” for the highest office in the land in both the Democrat and the Republican parties are determined to take us down that exact road to socialist bondage and the extinction of freedom. Both have also advocated and advanced public policies that deny the fundamental humanity of certain classes of our fellow human beings, namely the unborn.

So, what do we do? Do we fold our hands and give up in the face of these two corrupt political parties and their unprincipled leaders? No, no, no, no, a thousand times, NO! We’re Americans, and we must do what Americans have always done when their backs were up against the wall. We must fight! We must strive with all our might for life, liberty, and the Constitution, for the sake of our posterity.

That is how I intend to honor the memory of the greatest President of my lifetime, Ronald Reagan. I’m going to fight for what is right, no matter the odds. I pray that you will do the same. No matter what it may look like, if enough of us will take up that challenge, we will win – with the help, and by the grace, of course, of Almighty God. Just like the Gipper did.

Barack Obama's latest unconstitutional action is his attempt to make four so-called recess appointments to high-level, well-paying jobs in the federal bureaucracy when the Senate was not in recess. He appointed three people to the National Labor Relations Board, plus Richard Cordray to head the newly created Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, even though the Senate had declined to confirm his nomination.

Article II gives the president power "by and with the advice and consent of the Senate" to appoint public officials and judges, and also "to fill up all vacancies that may happen during the recess of the Senate." That provision was written to cover the long recesses that were common during the horse-and-buggy days and was certainly not written to enable the president to defy the Senate and appoint persons who the Senate would not confirm.

Obama's action is clearly an attempt to circumvent the U.S. Constitution because the Senate was not in recess when he made these appointments. According to the Constitution, the Senate could not have been in recess when the appointments were made because Article I of the Constitution states that neither House can "adjourn for more than three days without the consent" of the other House, and the House did not consent to a Senate recess.

It seems reasonable that the Senate should have the authority to say whether or not it is in recess. Apparently, [Alleged] President Obama wants to make that a presidential decision.

Obama claims he can call it a recess because the Senate is merely conducting pro forma sessions (i.e., having brief meetings and not doing anything important). In fact, the Senate did pass a bill on Dec. 23 during one of those brief sessions, and the President signed it into law, so it must have been important business.

Even if someone accepts Obama's farfetched argument, that doesn't put him in compliance with the constitutional requirement that the Senate cannot be in recess unless the House has agreed. And the House absolutely did not agree to a recess.

We have a law on the books that requires the attorney general to give the president legal advice on request. Funny thing, Obama won't say whether or not he asked the Justice Department for advice about the constitutional issue before making controversial recess appointments.

The head of the Justice Department's Office of Legal Counsel, Virginia Seitz, issued a statement, dated two days after the appointments were made, that presumes to OK the recess appointments. However, it did not refute the case against the legality of the appointments, and Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, says this memo is "unconvincing."
